ST and PanAm Railways Pictures by CSX train symbol

There is an explanation of CSXTs use of symbols further down. The trains I have are Locals, Manifests, and Yard Switchers.

CSXT Symbols

CSX uses a four character symbol system that gives a letter for the type of train and a three character number

I will list the symbols I know to be used in my area with the base they opperate from. For locals it should be noted that the daily details may differ from the stated normal.

Y Local
The Y symbol is used for Yrd Switchers that do not leave the yard they work in.
The first digit indicates the eight hour shift they start in.
The last two digits increment up when crews may work in the same yard or are close and may be on the same radio channel.
